- This is a great little app to have on your phone that is disguised as a daily news advisor. When this app is activated by you (one push of a button), it sends a text message you’ve pre-written to a friend you’ve pre-selected.
- Example: You’re in that aweful situation of fearing for your life at home with an abusive partner, so you select the app on your phone and it texts your sister your words “meet me NOW at our special location.” Of course, you would want your special friend to know ahead of time where your special location is.
- Gracefull Safety Planner – Print on two sides of paper, then fold in quarters. When folded correctly, this planner is disguised as a resource guide for scripture on the outside covers; when turned inside out it is a safety planner.
- If you fear that you may find yourself in an urgent need to leave your home, prepare a “Go Kit” to keep in a hidden place outside your home. This kit would include items such as the Safety Planner above; some cash, an extra set of car and house keys; any life-saving medication you take; even a change of clothes.
- Code words – Have a few close friends or relatives that know your code words when you are talking to them on the phone. Such as:
- I’m thinking about cooking brownies – means, I’m leaving now to go down to the grocery store, meet me there in 1/2 hour.
- I really, really tired right now – means, call 911 and come to my house immediately.
- You get the idea.
LifeSaveHer Training – If you are part of a church, ministry, or faith-based organization that would like to have training in how to respond to a member, coworker, friend or family member who shares her emotionally disturbing situation with you, consider sponsoring a 2-hour LifeSaveHer Party.
